Simply divide your waist circumference by your height. This tool also shows waist-to-hip ratio if hip measurement is provided.

Frequently asked questions
Why is WHtR better than BMI?
WHtR captures central fat distribution, which is more closely linked to cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes than overall weight.
What ratio is healthy?
Below 0.5 is considered healthy. 0.5–0.6 indicates increased risk. Above 0.6 is substantially increased risk.
How do I measure my waist?
Measure midway between the lowest rib and the top of the hip bone (iliac crest), relaxed, at end of a normal breath. Do not pull the tape tight.
