About the Password Generator

Generate cryptographically secure passwords in three modes: random characters (customisable length and character sets), passphrases (random dictionary words joined by a separator) or numeric PINs. Entropy is displayed for each result.

How to use the Password Generator

  1. Choose mode: password, passphrase or PIN.
  2. Set length or word count.
  3. Select character sets (uppercase, lowercase, digits, symbols).
  4. Generate one or multiple passwords.
  5. Copy the result.

Frequently asked questions

How long should a password be?

At least 12–16 characters for random passwords. For passphrases, 4–6 words provides equivalent strength and is easier to remember.

Are passphrases more secure?

A 4-word passphrase from a large dictionary has similar entropy to a 12-character random password. Passphrases are easier to type and remember.

Is this truly random?

Yes. Generation uses PHP's random_int() backed by the OS CSPRNG. Results are not stored or logged.
